Not quite the Burger bun.. though this is another subject and a much bigger hype that has been ongoing here in middlest east and GCC countries in the last 5 years. ( Yeah with all blogs posting the search for the best burger ever!)
But it is the “Roti” Bun! If you are living somewhere in Middle East, or any Gulf Country like UAE, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia, you might have encountered or tasted these buns!
I visited Rotiboy Riyadh in Sahara Mall. Rotiboy Riyadh currently have 5 branches (Nada, Jarir Rabwah, Izdihar, Ishbiliah, Khalijia center and soon Tahlia and Olaya beside faisaliyah! Their branches have expanded in less than on year!
They have 3 kinds of buns: the original Rotiboy Bun , Butter Milk and mocha boy ( chocolate filling !!)
They also have a wide range of hot and cold drinks that you ll def. be lost when choosing from the menu!
The cashier and the waiter were both smiling and helpful!
Tasting the bun is another story… Its temperature was perfect, neither hot or cold….just warm like what your tongue really craves for…The overwhelming smell infused with coffee is tantalizing and fresh… As if you are in a bakery and coffee store at the same time, perfect combination…..I tried two flavored buns the original and the chocolate filled…
The price of the bun is the same as their competitors paparoti and mama roti. But the taste and diversity in buns flavors is def. an added value for Rotiboy ! And the most thing I loved about Rotiboy is that It serves my favorite Organic/Free Trade Tea: Tea Gschwender , the german tea.
They also have Puro Coffee : fair trade, organic as well as free of artificial ingredients and preservatives! Not to forget, their stores decorations and branding, the orange and blu cups, and the funny slogans on the wall, all give it a youthful, hip feeling when you enter the store!
